GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS
Liberti is a dynamic, independent woman’s magazine with a vision to encourage, equip and inspire Christian women living in today’s world. It seeks to reach out to women from all over the church and empower them to live out their faith in the fast lane, to apply biblical principles in the work place, in their relationships and in their homes.
Liberti is aimed at a broad spectrum of women but specifically at a 16-44 age group. We want to address the issues faced by women in these generations, but recognise that their experiences will vary widely. Our readers will be married and single, in the workplace, at home or still in education and they will be at different stages on their journey of faith. Liberti aims to speak as much to the woman who is just exploring Christianity as to the woman who has travelled with God for a long time.
Liberti articles should be based on real life and encourage women to reflect in a positive way upon their own lives. They do not need to be explicitly Christian, although they can be. The language used should not assume a reader’s familiarity with ‘Church speak’.
Regular columns should be 450 words
Two page articles should be between 700-900 words
Five page features should be between 12-1500 words
Liberti welcomes unsolicited manuscripts, which should be:
* Emailed to Bekah@libertimagazine.com
* Accompanied by high resolution photographs (where appropriate), with each one numbered and captioned. E-mailed pictures should be sent as JPEG attachments (300dpi).
*Accompanied by a headshot of the author and 50 word bio line, which maybe required for publication alongside the article.
All submissions are received on speculation and the editor reserves the right to reject any manuscript at any stage.
What we’re looking for:
Inspiration: Stories of how faith in God has helped women who have taken on new challenges – an amazing job, a mission field, a family, or who have overcome adversity – illness, eating disorders, abuse, prejudice etc.
Challenge: Hot topics and awareness raising. This is an opportunity to challenge women to make a difference in the world they live in, to show practical ways to get involved with areas of need, to share the liberty they have with other women around the world.
Support: Looking at real issues that real women are facing today and offering a biblical perspective and/or practical advice and support on topics such as relationships, self image, children, careers, finances, education, bullying, abuse etc.
